Avon Chiropractic Healthcare will OPEN AGAIN this week for patients in urgent need.

We have been advised by our professional organisation that we are able to begin to resume face-to-face consultations with patients who are in urgent need.  We have conducted a very thorough risk assessment at the clinics and made some changes to the way that we work to minimise the risk of transmitting the COVID-19 virus.

Initially we will be open for appointments only in our Stratford-upon-Avon clinic.

As well as physical changes to the clinic we have will have only to have one practitioner working at a time and no receptionist for the immediate short term. 

For that reason, we ask that you arrive on time for your appointment rather than early to reduce the time you spend in the clinic.  We’ll ask that you wash your hands on entering and before exiting the clinic and consider even bringing and wearing your own face mask.  Our chiropractors will be using single use disposable gloves, masks, face shields and aprons to help protect the patient and practitioner.  

We will also still be continuing to offer video and telephone appointments, where we conduct a thorough consultation and offer a diagnosis and reassurance as well as practical advice regarding what to do to reduce your symptoms, and we will send you a specific exercise program for you to practice at home.  If following this consultation, you need to attend for treatment you may then do so.

We're looking forward to when lock-down can be eased. However until the Government and the British Chiropractic Association advises we can safely return to work, our chiropractors will not be offering in-person appointments.

We have been working hard behind the scenes reviewing how the clinics currently operate, and what changes will need be made in order to reduce risk to those visiting our clinic. We are following robust advice and guidance from the British Chiropractic Association to help us and will advise you of any changes as soon as we have a firm plan.

Whilst it creates economic challenges for a small business to remain closed, your health and safety, and that of others working within our clinic, is of much greater importance.

We understand it may be frustrating being unable to access hands-on care during this time, here is a graphic to explain the important key reasons behind why our clinic remains closed.

The COVID-19 global crisis is affecting us all.

Our priority is to maintain public health in-line with Government advice, while aiming to continue helping our patients.

For now, we are keeping our 2 clinics open to help patients requiring care.

Patients should follow government guidelines and not come in the clinics if they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.

We advise patients identified as being at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19 to consider whether their treatment is essential and to rearrange their appointments with one of our receptionist as required

If at risk patients would still like to be treated because they are in great need, such as suffering severe pain, or they personally deem their treatment to be essential, please let us know and we will try to schedule your appointment first in the treatment session available, basically first in the morning or first in the afternoon.

Obviously, patients who do not want to attend appointments at this time can cancel without penalty charges.

If you decide to attend the clinic, we ask you to be punctual with your appointment (not too early, and not late) and come alone, if possible, so to reduce contact with others.

We will space out the appointments as much as possible between patients, so to reduce contact with others further. As we have only one treatment room per clinic, this should mean that you should be the only patient present during your visit.

Patients are encouraged to use the clinic facilities to wash their hand upon arriving and leaving.

We have obviously increased our hygiene measures and door handles, credit card keyboards and clinic equipment are being regularly cleaned.

As a team we are working very hard to consider what we can do to support people who find themselves unable to use their usual healthcare options due to developing events.
